What people say...
Katja Lünser, teamer, Freiburg:
... My time with Erlebnistage is coming to an end. It was lovely, it was great, exhausting, …and I have learnt sooooo much – about myself, people as such, collaboration, being together, and and and...! I’m tired, somewhat melancholic, excited about what has been and looking forward to what will come…!
Bernhard Brantzen, Director of Caritas Association Gießen:
... The form of experiential outdoor education you are offering is not only hitting people in a cognitive manner but with all its fibres of life. It’s the approach of a holistic education that promotes and enhances the inner and outer growth of people. This as a link between university and practice qualifies your work. ... For your ongoing work we wish you God’s blessing from the bottom of our heart.
Gerd Maxin, Head of Seminar for Sports and Education at the Teacher Training Seminar in Stade:
For me it’s important to get future teachers to understand that avoiding risks and challenges in the long run leads to more than stagnation – it takes away your spirit. We have seen an attractive place to learn, where it is possible: away from over-intellectual seminar’s work and into holistic learning. We have seen ourselves how we really are and became self-confident – another step towards the development of your personality.
Rüdiger Strack, Principal of Walsrode Secondary School:
Erlebnistage are the first major adventure of their lives for my pupils. Checking your boundaries, finding yourself, showing strengths and admitting weaknesses… this is something new. None of my pupils who made it to the Karlshaus after hours in the deepest snow just before night is ever going to forget this experience.
Elisabeth von Meltzer, teacher, Secondary Modern School Büchen:
There are days when you want to know about yourself, inconvenient obstacles turn into rewarding challenges, you find completely new aspects in long-known faces, insecurities turn into creativity, you cherish experiences lived together… this is what Erlebnistage is for me.
Dagmar Krüger, pupil, age 13, Walsrode:
When I’m thinking about Erlebnistage, the first thing that comes up is the hike. It was hard but yet so much fun. [The hut] without electricity and with the outhouse toilet was hardcore. What I liked most was the abseiling from the [climbing] rock. The teamer and our teachers were cool. I will never ever forget the night under the stars. On the last day they brought us cocoa to our bed. (This contribution was slightly enhanced by the editor)
Sandra Windmüller, teacher, Secondary Modern School Tostedt:
Seeing and understanding every single one with his weaknesses and strong points. Meeting people – for me this is what GFE and Erlebnistage is all about.
